Cylinder crankcase coating

Aim

Remanufacture of the cylinder head sealing surface on cylinder crankcases for the use of serial components such as pistons, liners, etc.

Project content

• Development of a suitable thermal spray coating
• Sample part coatings for layer tests and bench tests
• Development of a holistic process including pre-treatment, masking etc. Preparation, masking etc.
• Preparation of a suitable plant concept
• Realization of the spraying center
• Introduction of the thermal spraying process at the customer.

Result

Automated spraying center with a coating system consisting of two arc spraying guns for adhesive layer and top layer, a change system that can be fully flexibly operated by means of a robot, using only one power source.
